Ess-a-Bagel was established in 1976 on 21st Strret and 1st Avenue by Gene and Florence Wilpon and her brother Aaron Wenzelberg. By popular demand we have now come to Midtown Manhattan.
Coming from an Austrian baking family, it is not surprising that whithin two years the hand-rolled were voted the best in the TriState area. It has continued to win national acclaim, not only for the bagels but also for lucsious, appertizing salads, varieties of cream cheese, choise meats, and individualized catering orders.
